  When should I do my   senior session?  

When should I do my senior session?  That is a great question.   Which season you chose and the reason behind it is as unique as you are.   A few things to ask yourself when deciding on a season.  Are you more of a

 

summer tan or cozy sweater

 

kind of person?  Is there one season that really stands out as your absolute favorite time of the year?  Does one season work better with your schedule?    

Still can't decide?  Did you know that with Lori Gray Photography you don't have to pick just one season.  Most seniors do a split session called "One Session/Two Seasons".   So if you can't decide or you just want more variety, One Session/Two Seasons may be the best fit for you.

Summer 

PROS

  • Summer flowers and greenery

  • Warm temperatures

  • Summer tan

  • More daylight (sessions later in the evening)

  • Have your images in time to get them in the yearbook

  • More available dates

CONS

  • It could be hot

  • Early in your senior year

  • Harder to layer for a finished look

Fall

PROS

  • Fall colors and tone

  • Can wear both summer and fall clothes

  • Still warm outside

  • Easy to add layers for a polished look

  • Have your images in time to get them in the yearbook

CONS

  • Back to school busyness

  • Less flexibility in booking

Winter

PROS

  • Easy to layer for a finished look

  • Flexibility in booking

  • Have your images in time to get them in the yearbook

CONS

  • Lack of color in the trees

  • Less daylight (earlier sessions)

  • It could be cold

  • No tan, lighter skin

Spring

PROS

  • Green spring colors

  • Flowers are blooming

  • Mild temperature

  • Closer to graduation

CONS

  • Less flexibility in booking

  • Spring can be a crazy time of year for seniors

  • Images not being ready in time for the yearbook

 You can't go wrong! 

Whatever season you decide is the best fit for you and your schedule you are sure to get great images! Make sure you start looking at dates about 3-4 months in advance.  Keep in mind that fall and spring dates fill up quicker than summer and winter.  We will work together to create amazing images that you will love no matter the season.  I'm here to help, so make sure you get in touch if you have any questions.
